Fixer Upper

Guest post from: Natalie Walter

Buying this old fixer upper was something my husband and I decided to do together, but at the end of the day it’s been me who’s done most of the work. It was hard moving here, being a gay couple, because the town’s so small and everyone was pretty set in their ways but you know, they’ve grown to love and support us and we’ve started to feel really at home. This place looks great if I do say so myself and I think everyone in the neighborhood appreciates us bringing it back to its former glory and getting one eyesore out of the neighborhood. I recently put in hughesnet and ordered a claw foot tub for the bathroom and James is thinking about painting the downstairs living room with a mural which I’m not sure I’m sold on. We’re making this old Victorian a home though and that excites me – we’ve never owned property together before now and this has definitely been one big adventure, that’s for sure!
